![]() Longfellow Business Directory
The Business Directory lists all businesses in Greater Longfellow according to category. Click here to download a PDF copy of the current (2022) directory. To update your listing, please contact Kim here. About the Directory
The Longfellow Business Directory has been an important part of the Longfellow community going back to the 1990s. It was started to help foster better communication within the business community and as an important way for businesses to connect with customers and a way for residents to identify the myriad of businesses within walking distance. It’s something residents can hold in their hands, flip through, and keep in a drawer for easy reference. Since 2004, the Directory has been published in cooperation between the Longfellow Business Association and the Longfellow Nokomis Messenger. It is published every two years, and is released with the December issue of the Messenger, delivered to over 8,000 households in Greater Longfellow. |

9/27 - Art As a Way of Stabilizing
Engagement in the creative process offers opportunities to cope, examine, and build resilience. The safety and stabilization phase is a vital compo- nent of trauma healing and requires time and consideration. This Open Studio creates an opportunity for community members to come together in an environment that promotes a sense of stabilization using meditative art processes. 12–2 PM (Zoom)
10/6 - Art As a Way of Sharing
Stories offer a way to contain and share our experiences. Through the artful altering of books, community members are invited to tell their story their own way during this open studio. 6–8 PM (In Person)
10/11 - Art As a Way of Fight
“Never fight to injure, fight to uplift.” Chanel Miller
Our aim in this group is to reflect on how fighting for our community can be trans- lated into art. Through the process of screen printing, participants will create messages that they wish they could tell institutions of power that uplifts our community. 6–8 PM (In Person)
10/14 - Art As a Way to Come Back to Your Body
Body scanning can be a useful way to check in with yourself and know when you need a pause. Join us to learn how to use this exercise alongside art making to build up your capacity for slowing down and checking in during the difficulties of our day to day. 11 AM–1 PM (In Person)
10/24 - Art As a Way to Process
How do we process the events, accidents, or markers of a whole life? We look at each piece, just a little bit at a time, and see how it has fit together to make a whole. Mosaic shows us the importance of every piece and makes meaning with cohesive results. Let’s use mosaic as a way to start sifting through the process. 4–6 PM (In Person)
