At 27th and Lake Street, you’ll see a black awning that reads LV’s Barber Shop. What at first seems like a quiet storefront transforms into a bustling community hub the moment you step foot inside. The small shop is always full with customers sitting in classic swivel chairs while LV and his team of barbers swiftly cut and groom. The Barbería (Spanish for barbershop) is not just home to the best haircuts in the Twin Cities, but is also a destination for folks coming from as far away as Mankato, Rochester and Wisconsin.
The owner, Lamberto Vergara, or simply LV, was born in Mexico, raised in Brooklyn, New York and relocated to Minneapolis in 2002. After getting his business degree, he enrolled at the Minnesota School of Barbering on East Lake Street. LV’s Barbershop opened in 2011 and has grown to be one of the most highly recognized barbershops around. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere extends beyond haircuts as LV creates a diverse space where all are welcome.
