Greater Longfellow includes the Longfellow, Cooper, Howe, and Hiawatha neighborhoods. We are home to more than 22,000 residents, over 500 businesses, 4 schools, 22 churches, 4 parks, 2 major business corridors and several nodes, the Hiawatha Light Rail, the Mississippi River Gorge, Midtown Greenway and the Minnehaha Falls Park.

LBA Coordinator
Kim Jakus has been working for the LBA for since July 2018, but was originally connected to the LBA through her work at the Longfellow Community Council from 2008-2011. She is happy to be working in Greater Longfellow again.  The mix of amazing food, art, retail, non-profits, transit, industry and green space really represents the best of  Minneapolis.  Kim is amazed by business owners who not only successfully run their own business, but also take time to support their fellow businesses, neighbors and social causes.  The business community in Longfellow feels like family.

In addition to her part-time job with the LBA, Kim also juggles work with Seward Civic & Commerce Association, the Wedge Co-op, Loon Organics Farm, and wrangling her kindergartner. Kim and her husband Matt live with their 6-year old son Walter in Minneapolis. They love gardening, camping, cooking, traveling overseas, hanging out by the Mississippi River and time with friends and family.
